Mar-a-Lago Valuation Dispute
Trump's Claim of $18 Billion Value Challenged
Experts Say Property Worth Far Less
A dispute has arisen over the valuation of former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach County, Florida. According to court documents, Trump has claimed the property is worth $18 billion. However, a defense expert has estimated its value to be closer to $12 billion.
The Palm Beach County assessor has appraised Mar-a-Lago's market value to be between $18 million and $276 million. The county has determined a current value for taxation purposes of $37 million, based on the property's annual net operating income as a club rather than its resale value.
Trump's claim of an $18 billion valuation is significantly higher than the recent Forbes evaluation, which estimated the property's worth at $350 million. In the past, Trump's own company estimated the value at over $17 billion less than his current claim.
The valuation dispute is expected to play a role in an upcoming legal battle between Trump and the Palm Beach County Tax Collector. Trump is contesting the county's assessment, arguing that Mar-a-Lago is worth znacznie więcej than the $37 million value.
